Everything for the fury ready to go. Waiting on ice.
« on: November 21, 2017, 02:41:37 am »
Finally setup the fury properly for racing.  Waiting on ice to test out the new engine.  Engine came in running stock pipes, derby skis, homemade spreaders widened jag suspension. Just having trouble finding  the correct belt. Pretty happy with it so far except for the belt.

Always nice to see not only a different color of sled on the track but a different make for a change!

Where do you race!   If you know your center distance you should be able to find the right belt.

Thanks, I race in Wisconsin with pro vintage.  Running this in the superstock 440.

The center to center is 12 1/4.  I bought a good year 36gbssv1204 which is 47.4 or 46.93 (depending which location you look) but it's too tight.

Thank you. I finished it two years ago and someone backed into July 4th. Pretty disappointed but fixable.  Bought it as a shell put disc brakes and a 1275 in it. Have one my parents bought in the 70s I'm retiring to original.

pull the centers back to 12" and run a polaris belt. easy to find and it should work with reverse cam arctic converter.

If your running a stock revs cat Secondary  you can shim the secondary if the belt is too tight.      Also  if you are running stock clutches minus the hex clutch I am guessing came standard on that.  You should be able to run a el tigre belt from that year.       It would help to know what clutches you have.    There is adjustments to make so you can run a different belt.       12.2  center to center is ZR  distance you should be able to run a ZR belt.   12.250 so your off  just a little should be able to shim the difference?    Maybe someone knows more then I do can comment on this.    I am just guessing I don't know for sure it would work or not.

    Thank you for the replies.

I was hoping to not move the engine because the way the pipes sit there isn't a lot of ability to shift anything.

I am running a p85 with polaris button (type with adjuster).  I was pointed at the zr belt for this, so you're spot on.  Once I get something that is remotely close I will be able to play with the adjuster but my other belts were sitting 1/4" shifted so I figured no point in even trying to mess with it.
