MEMORIES FROM THE 50th

PJ and a Friend

There were so many moments that will stick in my mind from last weekend’s Arctic Cat 50th celebration in Thief River Falls, from Aaron Johnson and Roger Skime crawling into one of the Boss Cat’s, to Tom Ische’s 1980 Consumer SnoPro Cat (I think the only one I’ve seen restored correctly) to the prototypes, to Larry Coltom’s grand kids asking him about the machine he used to race….

But my favorite one is this little girl who jumped up on one of P.J. Wanderscheid’s World Champion Cat so dad could take a picture. PJ just started talking to her (and she right back at him) like they had know each other for years. I know it’s not vintage, but this picture says more to me about a great racer than any photo I’ve taken in some time.

Be sure to check out the fantastic re-cap by John Sandberg on ArcticInsider.com.
