Rat Sleds

I'm building a rat sled and wanting to see what other people have done for their rat sled builds.

I'm pretty sure what I have in mind for mine will definitely make the front page of the paper. It's that bad!

I had always thought of the rat sled class  to be a beat up old sled that still runs and moves , a rat sled definitely should NOT have new paint and a Reupholstered seat or polished aluminum  ect ..

oldsledz that thing is to much, looks like a good parts hauler, and it has an extra light for those night missions+ with all that extra suspension it could even be a jumper.

How da heck did the guy ride the motorcycle powered sled ?  Sidesaddle ?  And is that a long lake racing decal on the side of it ?

I hope he put a brake on the drives then , cool setup thou ! I'd definitely gear it down so I could use all the gears

Our snowmobile club awarded a trophy to a rat sled that was overgrown with tree moss and sap. It obviously sat under someone's pine tree for 25 years or so and never got washed.

Here's a true rat. 72 Boa Ski Mark II. I just started work on it. These are some "before" pictures.









Here's the engine I'm building for it. Fan 340 CCW turned to a Free Air by sawing off one corner of each head and rotating them slightly
