Jon and Carol, Sorry for your loss. Les drove for me 35-40 years ago during cranberry harvest. Great Driver, Great Employee, Great Guy! He will be missed. JB

Could you run a 1971 Skiroule RTX racer with a Sachs 340R in this class?

Definitely,  the class is fan or free air 71 or older, and the 340R was a production engine for the RTX.
Hopefully you can make it,  I would love to see an RTX out there.

So if the video from last year isn't enough to get you to want to race a Relic Single Mod check put the trick points to CDI module that I got from Scott at www.cdibox.com
I'll be putting it on a 1971 Chaparral that I got from all around great guy and former Relic Single Cyl racer Greg (j3greg)

Hi Everyone:   Last year Jon approached me to try & get more guys into Relic Mod Single.  Told him I had something Cool planed for the 20th Vintage WC weekend.  Got a call from Jon & Scott to tell me the dollars they are going to put into Relic Mod Single & that they want it to be played back several places,  VERY COOL.  So with that call last year we ran them on the first ever Friday Night Lightning, & the rest is history.   This is fantastic for the relic mod division that they are again stepping up in 2022 !!!   I applaud you both !!!!   Thanks Craig Marchbank WCDC Race Director

PS:  Stay Tuned to your Bat Channel for another HUGE announcement for the Relic Mod Division  :P !!!!!!!!!

If your still on the fence about building a Relic Mod Single or dragging your old one out of the shed and firing it up for vintage weekend because it's only one race and even with $1000 of added prize money your just not sure.........I've got that extra bit of incentive for you, My wife Carola and I have now partnered up with PVR to add $100 per race to their Relic Mod Single program too. I'm not sure if the full details have been ironed out yet but there will be extra money on 1st tru 3rd and then some for 4th and 5th place too. The idea being to give some incentive to the guys building Relic Mods and hopefully to get some of the stock singles to jump into the class also to get extra track time with a chance to win a bit of cash back for their entry fees while boosting the sled count and payback.
We're looking forward to a great season of racing and hopefully seeing a real revival in the Relic classes!!

Thanks for posting the video of the race.  I really enjoyed that and that Cat really looked good going thru the corners. It must have been set up well.  The Ski-doo sure didn't embarrass himself at all either.  Was the Ski-doo a real Blizzard?

Yes, it was an original 1970 Blizzard, pretty cool to see one on the track yet.

Seeing the picture of the Chaparral, has anyone had good success with a single in this Relic class?  Seems like they would have some chance with their lightweight chassis and I think some had some strong Sachs or Hirth engine options?

For those on the fence about bringing out a fan cooled relic to run in this class, don't forget that there is also a 1973 and Older 340 Mod fan cooled class that you can jump into for more track time.

Here is the 1973 and older 340 Mod Fan race from 2021.
