Relic Mod Single class at Eagle River
« on: September 23, 2021, 03:45:34 pm »
Once again Scott at Hewtech Electronics and my wife and I at JC Buehler Trucking are putting up $1000 for the Relic Mod Single Cyl class at vintage weekend in Eagle River. There will be added money for 1st thru 3rd and money to show from 4th on, so bring the singles and let's race!!
 Check out Scott's website for all your ignition needs, he's got some great setup's for the singles or twins.

    Wow, that's a pretty big deal for this class.  Great to have awesome sponsors like this.

    Seems like single cylinder racing has been on the rise again the last few years.

    Question: what would be some examples of what runs in this class?  What years would most of the sleds be and is Yamaha a force with their 292's?

    Relic = 1971 and older
    Yamaha 292 can run - but not the reed intake versions (too new)

    Thanks for the info.

    What has been the sled and combo of choice to be a threat to win?  Any steel chassis sled competitive, or do you need to start with aluminum chassis?

    194r Hirths and 340c Sachs are good choices,  last year there was a 1970 Blizzard with the 340 F/A running.  Pretty cool to see one of those still racing.

    How many ended running last year?  I have a 69 scorpion that I might drag out of mothballs and come play.
    Just racing for the pure joy of it...

    Get those things out there!  This is a low-cost class to build a sled for and a very good chance you will get some $$ if you show up with a sled to enter!!    ;)

    Definitely, what a crowd favorite those sleds were, if anyone knows those guys talk them into showing up again.

    Those things were loud. Not real fast but still fun to see.
    Deserve's got nothing to do with it.

    I just wanted to share that Jon (1996ch613) lost his dad Les today- Jon and his wife Carola have been big supporters of Relic, put their money where it matters. If he does not post for a bit please understand.
