TXC276, Thanks for the share. In the article from Arctic Insider Dale wrote about his first sled being a 10hp Ski Doo. Then he talks about buying his first racer from Ray Christen in Fertile MN in 1968. Well about that time my dad was looking for a used sled for my brother and I . We ended up at Fertile Hatchery one night and our dad bought us a well used 10hp Ski Doo from Ray Christian.   Makes me wonder did we grow up riding a piece of history.  It was a great starter sled for sure. We named it the "Ruptured Duck." Don't know what happened to it. Dad probably traded off for a Sno*Jet.

    adaguy,
I like the possibility that you owned Dale Cormican's trade in Skidoo.  How many yellow 10hp Skidoo's were at that Cat dealer at that time... Cool.
Thanks for the post.  I never saw Dale race but he must have been quit a guy to come on to the cross country scene and win the biggest race on his first try.

Being a dealers kid in that era we looked at him like Hercules. A mythological hero whose posters adorned all the Cat dealerships in the east. God bless him.
I have one very special sled.
I no longer claim to be omniscient because the rules are more like guidelines.
Thank God I have more than one hobby.
