SRX Racing.......
« on: July 12, 2021, 12:07:26 am »
It's similar to the old IROC series, but different. I have all but given up on Nascar, so this has been a fun replacement. We went to Slinger Super Speedway last night to see the race. It was a great race right to the end. Our local 17 year old ran at the front all night, door to door with Tony Stewart and Marco Andretti. Andretti got the win, unfortunately,  but it was great racing. It's the first year for this series, but I think it has a future. There is 1 more race next Saturday in Nashville,  televised on CBS.

I've been watching. Definitely neat to see them race on classic tracks with equal cars on different surfaces. Good things are to come for Fenhaus after that showing.

I've been watching the series, and thoroughly enjoying it.  Most impressive to me is how the Indycar and sports car guys are doing.  That tells me they've given them a middle-ground car that they all can adapt to fairly quickly.  And that Haillie Deegan - she can run with the best of them!  They keep saying they want to add more tracks next year.  I hope so!

FWIW:  I gave up on NASCAR in the early '90's, when "the show" started to become more important than "the race"....

I watched some of it too. Reminds me of local track racing.

Also quit NASCAR quite a few years back.
