replacement stator mxz 700
« on: June 14, 2021, 06:56:22 pm »
I have a 2001  mxz 700 that has a low spark/on spark problem. If you can get it to fire up your off and running but that usually requires fresh plugs and a warmed up motor. Stator output is border line or below spec. When I removed it to inspect it looked like a small bolt must have gone through the staor/flywheel doing a little damage to stator pole laminations.  Who makes a good replacement. Any opinions?

This happened to one of my (06) 600 MXZ H.O.'s, the magnet delaminated and flew around which destroyed the pickup coils. When it first started it acted just like you said, get it going and keep the RPM's up and I limped it home. I got Bombardier replacement parts.

I've had good luck with Ricks and RMStator on that era Ski Doo stuff if you're looking for aftermarket.

I used one of the chines stators off eBay a few years ago on a 380 Rotax fan. Itís been fine. I know a guy who put a Chinese stator in a 600 HO SDI a few years back. Still going
