'78 Polaris TX340 & '80 TX 440 market value
« on: May 20, 2021, 03:41:25 pm »
Hi,
trying to find out the market value of my sleds in the Calgary, Canada area. not a high volume market so there's not much in terms of comparisons.
they're both in very good shape, need a bit of seat work.

Any experience out there on what these can go for?

Thanks

sorry if this is not the place for this!

You can't throw actual values around too much without actually seeing the sleds.  The 78 is in that 76-79 grouping of TX's and getting more popular all the time.  The 78 to me had the best graphics (personal opinion of course).  Interest should be pretty strong on this. 440 would be better than 340 but what do you do?

The 80 seems to be lagging behind value wise by quite a bit.  Being a 440 helps a little.

The seats can be redone now with quality repro seats or seat covers but of course they cost money.

Some pictures might help get you a better feel here.

    The 80 looks
To be in good shape other than the seat cover. Having a 440 helps the value. Iím not sure about the Calgary market but in Minnesota, it may be a $1200 sled
The 77 (not 78) doesnít appear as nice. Seat is shot and the hood flipped in the wind.  But, those years are a little over valued so itís probably a $950 sled

Other factors that add or subtract
Tunnel condition. A real beech to fix/ replace
Belly pan condition.  Difficult to replace
The bumpers ( especially the 77 rear is hard to find)
Obviously the motors and their compression
    Etc

Value here in Ontario is up, but depends on as always, one is willing to pay, those models I see in states are from 700 to 1100 depend of coarse on condition and location, alot of variables

Love that "aero" windshield on that 77  :)
