VP 110 or VP 112 fuel

Ok, so I have this 79 El Tigre 5000 F/A and was wondering what fuel are you guys useing while trail riding or racing. I will mainly use it as a vintage rider and occasionally some radar runs. I usually just put 91 regular mixed at 40:1 with some sta-bil added. I have never used VP fuel before so is it safe to use mixed at 40:1 or mix like half and half with regular fuel.

 I would just stay with gas pump premium , highest octane available. You will be ok. Your not running a full mod engine anyways.

I would agree with Vic.   Run non-oxygenated premium pump gas.

Changing your fuel octane will not increase power. The higher the octane the lower the flash point. Unless your engine was specifically built for high octane fuel it is a waste of money.

I have found a fuel that gave a stock engine more pep and that is VP Racing Fuel U4.4. It is your common race fuel with an imbedded oxygenator(oxidizer). The only down side is you must drain your fuel system after every use, this is very caustic to many fuel systems. I run this fuel in both 2 and 4 stroke motorcycles with a lot of success. The downfall is it costs $90.00 for 5 gal

I have run alot of it in  motors too hot for 93 pump.  It is a good fuel for the price and octane.  I get it for 4-5$ a gallon.

mixing some cheaper leaded race gas, like 105 octane at 20 percent makes a much better running engine and helps the safety factor with the crappy fuel we now have, ,cheap insurance.

4 gals of recreational gas (90+ oct) and one gal of race gas.  Great mix for stock or slightly modified engine.
