1978 Arctic cat el tigre
« on: October 09, 2021, 07:40:43 pm »
I have a opportunity to pick up a 1978 el tigre it belongs to a co-workers neighbor and has been in his barn for about 20 years with a bad piston. I have a few pics he sent me when I told him I was interested in the sled. I already have a vintage sled a 1979 exciter 440 and have gone on a few vintage rides up north with friends. I don't ride as much as I use to since the kid was born and the wife doesn't ride at all anymore but that may change here soon if this machine is worth a engine rebuild. I'm going to pick it up next weekend it's still up in a loft in a barn there bringing it down this weekend. I'll post up the pics my co-worker sent me today.

That is the 5000 series  free air that has the more desirable ported cylinders than the 80 and 81 5000 engines.

Nice looking sled when cleaned up and put back on the snow. Very worthy of saving.

Good graphics that year in my opinion.
