Coming along nicely! I don't have any experience with it...but I've heard of a number of guys doing a 121" conversion on first gen Phazers. Should make a good difference!

Thanks  :)

The hood had holes in it to fit the ET340-engine, so some repairs had to be done. I'm not doing a perfect repair, but good enough to work this winter.

I reinforced with some aluminium profile and rivets

    Then used plastic weld

    Sprayed with black paint

Made a cover for the big hole above the secondary clutch. Used plastic from a black oil can

Now it's time for the new skis... brand new plastic skis from a Lynx Rave 600RS 2012. (BRP)

    CTRL II skis

The SRV rubber stopper/damper won't work

A Skidoo rubber damper trimmed to the right size and then sliced to the right thickness

And final adjustment on the rubber... grooves that matches the ski

    Ski mounted

I've always wanted to drop a 540 from an XLV into an SS440, but never have the time or money. I love the SS440, one of my all time favorite sleds!

The XLV is basically the same sled as SS440, except the engine and the 2-up seat.

If you buy a 540-engine and then sell your SS440-engine, the cost should not be that big...

The 540-engines from Excel-V, XLV, Viking (VK) or a SRV, they all fits right in to the SS.
You might have to use the front motor mounts from the SS. And you should use the clutch setup (weight & spring) for the engine you choose.

Hood waxed and the wind shield mounted.
First start, and it runs well  :D

    Sled is ready for snow!

    Thanks  :)

We have the warmest december (and november) since late 80:s, so no snow yet.
But on Christmas the winter comes and I hope for some snow, and then a final report on how the sled works will come  :D
