I was wondering if that was what you did. Good idea!
Are you using a Scorpion tank from a newer sled?

This sled is going to be better that it was from the factory.

    Superb work!

i built a wire harness for the sled and hung some more parts on. because i am using a 290 ccw e start on this sled i needed to make up a harness and add a relay and rectifier. i also needed to fab up a heat shield for the battery.

    Nice work Rick.

I'll throw out this little something, not so much that you should run out and do this, but it's a maybe......... I took the case off a junk battery charger (never throw anything away yes?) and used it as a shield of sorts on a display pump I made. In my case it's more to let heat out than keep it from getting in, but with the louvers facing the opposite way it would likely let cool air intake flow through it.  :-\

I'll guess it's stainless steel window screen or something from the food industry.  ;D

Very cool sled! You do awesome work. I love your truck bedliner trick. I've been using that on the underside of my restoration (although mostly just in the track area) for a few years now, and it wears great! As a Sachs loyalist, I was a bit bummed to see the 'ol one lunger go  :'( but I love the CCW too!

Question for you, when you were taking the bogie wheels apart, how did you remove the rivets holding the halves together? Being round rivets, I can't imagine being able to drill them easily.

    As usual, great work!
