very sad news...

I started emailing and speaking with John about 5 years ago and had the pleasure of meeting him in person at the 2019 Waconia snowmobile show.  Even though he was not feeling well, he made it to the show with the help of Dough Hayes, and gave a wonderful speech regarding Phil Mickelson.  I knew he could not miss the opportunity to share his friendship and knowledge he learned from Phil with others.  John took over for Phil in helping people with their old Ski-Doo racing sleds questions, which lead to introductions to a lot of new people, like me.  I just looked in my inbox and the last time I received an email from him was April 10, 2020 - did not know this would be the last time I would learn something from him.  What a wonderful man and a huge loss to the vintage snowmobile community.

Prayers to his family and friends.

This is my last picture I got from John.  It speaks volumes to those who didn't have the privilege of knowing him.  Lunch with his grandson.
Pay no attention to the man behind the green curtain!

I am sorry to hear of his passing. Never knew him, but his name is familiar to me, I can tell by these posts he meant a lot to many. God speed John.

Thoughts and prayers with his family, friends and all you guys that know him.

Life is short, cherish it and cherish your family and friends.

    Condolences.

Well it is slowly sinking in. My Friend, Compadre, and Partner in Crime has passed. Too many decades of memories to put in an E-Mail. I can invision a SKI-DOO R & D department in Heaven where Phil, Stan, Dick Bahr and John are building some crazy stuff while Geo Hayes is looking on just shaking his head saying "YOU BOYS".... I will always miss you my friend. JB

JB    This photo was in the last group of 8 photos I sent John just over a week ago. I don't know if he was well enough to see them. John may have seen that photo before.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person but surely appreciated all of his help and advice when I was working on my first Blizzard. After reading the first e-mail he sent me you would have thought that we had known each other for years. The hobby will miss one of the great ones. RIP John.

I think the words on the back of Bill's shirt can apply to many we have lost.
