Vics 1980 Bob Elsners #3 factory race sled

 It has been a while since I had any update on Bob Elsners #3 race sled. Been in the states for the past 7 weeks and made my 9k road trip. I did pick up my right foot wells that I had a local shop bend up off correct thickness aluminum and they are dead nuts on. I am using Bob's sled as templates for parts on a 80 Scorpion that I am also gathering up necessary parts for.

Been busy with disecting this sled for reproducing of parts needed for a 1980 Scorpion Sno Pro sled that I have on the bench also. Building both at the same time. Just fabricated up the right foot stirrup based off the black original.  I am building a rear skid for the Scorpion sled from mostly NOS parts. The #3 sled skid is almost back together  waiting to be reinstalled .

Sux here in Shiawassee Co. MI. We had about 3" a few weeks back then a warm up. Yesterday we had 4+" and nice and cold. Super clear sky right now so I'd imagine we'll be able to ride around a bit today. Might even find a drift in a fence row.

 A bit slow on this non restoration project. Just taking everything apart , cleaning , lubricating reassembling the skid. I did replace the worn out hyfax. Made a template for the lube holes in the hyfax and drilled exactly like the originals.  Again I am not wanting to restore this sled but to take it back to condition when it left the factory  race team semi . using all original fasteners as found.
