2+1 racer
« on: September 09, 2019, 11:36:21 am »
Have a centurion chassis that I've been saving to build a 2+1 replica to trail ride , also have a rxl 650 carb engine that is like to use I was wondering if the 71, 72 or 73 tx pans would fit the 71 2+1racer hoods? I can modify the pans for the difference in ski stance with no problem just wants sure which exact pan I would need

Sounds like a cool project! The 71 pans are steel, the 72 ATX, and 73 TX pans are aluminum like the 71 Racer, and will fit the 71 hood.

I hope to see this project coming soon. Sounds really cool.
When I grow up, I want to be a biker. But Mom says I can't do both.

I have been collecting parts for a little over a year I have a centurion chassis, a rxl 650 non efi engine, but I also have a 98 xc 700 engine that I went through and freshened up this fall, I am thinking about running the newer stock height skid and track,  chaincase jackshaft, and clutches, seems like it's quite hard to find an aluminum tx pa, I've also tossed around the idea of using 74 pdc fiberglass but love the 2+1 hood and pan

Nice thought, but it's not going to work. The geometry is totally different between the chaincase sleds, and the jackshaft sleds. The engine is offset to the left in a Centurion/TX type chassis. More centered in a chain case sled
Ignorant people find me irritating. Isn't that precious

It takes dedication, and commitment to make a difference..

Please don't expect me to take you seriously, if your tinfoil hat is leaning to the far left,,,,,

and mercury is not a good replacement for tinfoil,,,,

    Have a nice day!

Thank you for shedding some light on the two chassis mario, saves me quite a bit of money not buying the glass to find out they are way different,  my direction has changed for this build I took a 76-79 tx bulkhead and join it to a tapered indy tunnel, and mocked up a 98 xc 700 engine on it with indy drivetrain, what is like to do is put 73 starfire glass on it, I'll make a new thread when I get a few minutes
