    Was that common at that time?  Pardon my ignorance, I remember the loops, but not this style.  Seems like that right angle jabbing you in the ribs wouldn't have been too comfortable?

    elanss   Actually when a guy is setting up to turn left  on these year sleds , he is way over on the left side of the sled. The hook would about shoulder or head height that is why the lower end extends so far down on the left side, to still be able to hold on to the handlebar.

    OK, that makes sense, appreciate the explanation!  I actually shifted over in my chair to try to visualize that, but those guys were REALLY hangin' it out there!

    All that hanging off the left side, Right boot on the dash and the left ski is still in the air.   Anyone ever measure the lateral Gs these guys pull?

    Good point and interesting question - probably a good topic for another post...  I didn't mean to take away from or derail Vic's original post on the beautiful Ski-Doo he restored...

     Well this sled is done. Had a show this weekend and was able to reunite the original owner with his old sled. He could not believe that his old sled was brought back to life. He kept starring at it and saying I can not believe it. When the last time he saw it , he had cut it up and made a hill climber out of it. He thought he would never see it again. Quite emotional time .
