Vic's 79 Ski Doo SS

 Ok guys , I am now onto another sled. This is a 1979 Ski Doo SS 440 . It was bought and raced locally but over the years this sled has been stripped of all its good parts. I have been  gradually collecting parts for this sled for over 5 years . As I do my inventory it looks like that I am short the throttle assembly. I have already stripped what was left and all the other gathered parts will be headed to the powder coaters on Monday. It is going to require some steel and aluminum repairs as well as metal finishing, which I am ready for that . Enclosed is what I am starting with.

 Hey spark 1013 Yes I have been in contact with Dick. Do have some small parts coming from him. Will see how this sled turns out. Should be a way faster build than the previous sled.

Vic, I had a fellow give me an 82 9500 with 800 miles. If these clutches would work let me know. Mark

 Hey Mark.
 The drive clutch is the Comet 102C  and do not know what the secondary clutch is on a "82" 9500.
 Will get a picture posted off the parts manual.
  I have the bulkhead separated from the tunnel and all brackets removed from the tunnel for repairs.

 Found the clutches and steel parts are at the powder coaters getting paint.  Welding up the tunnel and metal finishing the repairs.

 The restoration site looks a bit slow this time of year. Well I have media blasted all the paint off the bird cadge. The front radiator braces from the shock towers  forward were severly damaged. So I had another donor part from another sled and cut off the original mess and cleaned up the new piece , jigged the parts to spec and tig welded the two back together. On the original sled it appeared that this sled had fell out of a truck or off a trailer while going down the highway on pavement and the hoop above the dash was also trashed from asphalt rash. I laid many tig beads across the damaged area , I ground down the welds and metal finished back to like new. I just dropped off the bird cadge at the powder coaters to get painted. Finished all the aluminum tunnel repairs and now just cleaning it up and getting ready for the two to be reassembled back together . Hope to have all these parts bucked riveted  together by next week end .

thank you Reimond. Just got back the powder coated bulkhead and just received the front and rear close off panels. Hope to be putting this back together soon.

 Well I have the bird cage , front and rear close off panels all bucked riveted back together to the repaired tunnel.
 next week I will be installing the steering and belly pan maybe the front suspension.
