I am game for this weekend.  I am thinking that Perkins in Bemidji is a pretty good place on the main drag to meet.  It's about 2.5 or so hours from Duluth for me.  I am planning on leaving around 8 am which would get me there around 10:30-10:45 am.  We can have a cup of coffee,  BS about sleds, have a few laughs,... make the engine exchange then head out.   Thoughts?

    Cheers,

    Hey guys,

Has the tear down revealed any other parts needs?

I just did the engine teardown tonight.  Boy she's a greasy old bird!!   It took me about an hour to completely dismantle it.  The greasy ones always come apart pretty nicely.   It's a pretty nice engine with minimal service done over the years.  Bottom end bearings are pristine so I'm not going to replace them.  I appears as though it's had a head gasket replacement at some point as well as a PTO crank seal.  It was well oiled but some rust had set in already on the top end.  I'm going to try to hone it out.  If the pits are too deep, I'll go to parts shed and check a few of my spares.  If they don't pan out, we'll have to go oversized and bore it out.  If I can't get the pits out, it'll just rust up again so,....stay tuned.

Now I start cleaning.  :-).   Pics to come tomorrow.
