Sachs 340 and 440 RX ignition development
« on: February 11, 2016, 10:03:35 pm »
Are guys racing these engines?  Would a new ignition have some demand?   Its hard to get a hold of bottom ends from these to measure for fittment.  I did see a whole engine in the classifieds though..   They basically only had points? And some motoplats?    Is the recoil cup the same as the cup on the 340R single?

    Adam,

I have quite a few RX motors. What would you need for a mock up and how long would you need it for?

I am. I'm adding it to my Repertoire of programmable ignition kits I offer. I already have the run of billet recoil cups I made for the Sachs R singles. Just been slow development because of less demand than some of my other more popular kit engines, and a bit more machining required to fit the parts. I could make you a kit for your non running 440. I guarantee you'll want a kit to replace your 340 ignition after too.

I'm going to be building 3-4 Sachs RX ignitions. After that it will be a while or on an on demand basis only.
