Beautiful sleds Phil !  Awesome work.
A friend of mine jokingly accuses me of"going both ways"and I guess he's right...  Ive always had cats but cant wait to start on my TX.     With that in mind, where did you get the new plug ends for your cdi ?

Phil, are you using aluminum or steel rivets for belly pan? Thanks

Sorry taxidermy mann, I haven't checked this thread in a while.

I have used both.  Steel is correct....but aluminum is kinder to the pan. The steel ones pull so tight....

If you're going to ride it regularly or race it, then use steel.  If it's mainly a show pony, then alum will work fine and won't crack/stress the pan as much.

    Hi Phil
I have a customer's 650 in the shop and certainly remembered your restorations.  So, I pulled this up and it will certainly help.  You're the 73 starfire guru!
Hope all is well.  Hadn't seen any of your projects lately.

Keep coming back to these pages just to see how my customer's 650 is supposed to come together.  Just little things like the recoil keeper position, the hood strap mounting, how is the CDI oriented, the exits for the pipes, etc.
    Thanks Phil for posting
