Yes WOP that is the sled. Here is the progress I have made. Going to be out on hold now that the race season is coming and the racers need work. Probably won't be finishing it till next spring. G if that pic is from antigo it kinda looks like the track after this year lol

Sure is a interesting front suspension on that sled. Keep up the good work so I can look it over some time.

Lol, Allen, thank you for bringing that up. I've been studiying that front suspension... I see coil overs, but no a-arms, what am I missing. How does it work...I know 101 question. :-)

If you look at the 2nd post you will see the track bar/panhard bar on the PTO side of the front suspension. It's a trailing arm set up with a solid axle.

Haven't touched it this winter cause of racing. Will be back at it this spring sometime and hopefully finish it off!

the very first in this thread might have answered a long lost question ive had about a cat that I had . the pic of the the bulk head shows the front of it going straight across not having that winged up front on the sides . is this just on the whal specials ? one of the sleds I had had that front bulkhead but had the four bar and z-bar on it . any one else ever come across this ?

I guess I'm missing something. I see the coil overs, and I get the trailing arms. But if it's a solid axle...how or where does it flex ?

The whole axle moves up and down as one piece. If you look behind it on the left side you can see the black link rod the maintains side to side movement.

Its strange indeed. Really it should not flex at all. The front beam can really only move straight up and down in the front.
Reminds me of a model T hotrod.

Now that I look at it closer I don't see the bar but it has to be there some where.

Dave sold these front beams and kits to a few of guys to convert to the `straight' axel front , many liked them because of the normal style sway bar and much easier to adjust the front geomertry .  I think I still have one of the beams in my shed from one .

One of those front ends is currently on a Sno Pro in central WI and is coming off in favor of the original Z bar.   I'm guessing it will be sold if someone is interested.
