Want to attach hyfax to the skid,,but the nose on my riveter won't fit the hole to go in deep enough.. Is there longer noses available or can I just countersink the hole a bit?

Yes, or you can use a short piece of brake line as a sleeve on the nail to get the depth you need. I have used this method for slides and those small snap bases.

Great work!! Looking good! I have another question on the hood.. or I missed it. Dos the scoop fold down and close?? It kinda looks that way....

Those skis look great painted. I did the spendy re-chrome but yours look just as nice. Next time...

No,,the scoop is bolted into position.. You could take the bolts out and push it back down! . Yeah,,I didn't want to spend a pile on re chroming skis,so I threw them in the blast cabinet,primed them and painted them with Rustoleum aluminum enamel. Turned out better than I thought they would.

Skid is back together.. Time to get some wheels relined..

Is that the original shock on the skid or a replacement??

Its a replacement.. Its actually a Ski Doo shock.. Just started looking at lengths on evilbay til I found a suitable one.. It has a lot beefier shaft and moves in the proper parameters of the original.And it was only 10 bucks.. Doesn't open as far,but still well within the available movement range. For the skis ,I used Polaris Indy ski shocks and bored the holes in the bushings to 7/16 and shimmed the bushings to the mounts since all they do basically is keep the skis from flopping around.
