Installed motor, clutches, and tank. Test fitted the pipes. Tried to start on spray. I have spark but could only get it to fire not run. Hard starting. Upon some thorough thinking and some parts research I learned the pistons for the 77 SRX are different than the 80. The original motor had 77 cylinders with a pair of nearly new Kimpex pistons which are now installed in 1980 cylinders. I hope that is the issue. Hood has had some fiberglass repair but due to the numerous gel coat cracks I am not going to spend a lot of time and effort on it.
