NADA truck prices
« on: September 14, 2013, 09:29:59 pm »
I'm looking to sell a truck. Possibly to one of my friends boys. I'm really struggling with coming up with a fair price.
NADA has it at
Rough trade 6650
Average trade 8075
Clean. 9250
Clean retail. 12,325

I would say the truck is in average condition. Any help here would be great.

I don't think NADA or Kelly Blue Book is realistic.

Frankly, I would call a dealer and ask.  Or, you could take it to a dealer and see what they would give you in trade.  This would give you a cash value of your truck.  Then, you can add what you want to that price to sell it, depending on how much of a "good deal" you want to give your buyer.

07' Ford F150. 161,000 miles. 4x4 STX, extended cab. A/C. Mechanically excellent. Everything works as it should. Like new tires.

Why not go to autotrader.com and search for that year and make and check out what they are asking for the same truck. Should give you a ball park price  to work from.

    NADA
    KBB
    EDMUNDS
    Cars.com
    autotrader.com

Check them all.  I had the same problem when I went to sell my 2003 Dodge.  The prices were all over the place.  I sold a 2003 Dodge Quad-Cab 4x4 in fair condition.  The different sites has prices from 3000 to 6000 and I got 4000.  For the record CARMAX offered me 2000.

    Good Luck.

Sorry gHenry didn't know it was that new of a truck but I could buy a new Chevy truck from a dealership with 5 mile's on it and sell it to a freind for a dollar and the enigne would leak all the oil out on the ground soon as they get home . :)
