Our provincial snowmobile trail runs across about a mile and a quarter of my land. While doing the spring planting these past couple weeks, I found one broken windshield, 2 shredded Arctic Cat drive belts, 1 unidentified piece of red plastic, and about 8 miscellaneous beer and pop cans, as well as a nice polar fleece balaclava. Being a snowmobiler myself, I can put up with this sort of thing. But it sure would be nice if snowmobilers didn't leave their junk out on the trail because I'm sure there are lots of non-snowmobiling land owners who are getting about fed up with having crap left all across their land and some of them might be having second thoughts about continuing to allow the trail system to cross their property.

    • You have to ask yourelf, "Do I feel lucky?"
While ditch riding, I found a really nice Polaris RMK snowflap. I bungeed it to the back of my Indy, and when we rode past a local bar, I had a guy what I thought was waving at me. Turns out, he was trying to flag me down!  about a mile later, I had a guy in a t-shirt race up beside me on a smashed up RMK. He was cool, and not mad at all. He said he would have grabbed it too! What an interesting event on a good little trip.  :D

This pisses me off!!  That is one of the biggest complaints of landowners when I have to call them to cross there property every year!! If you have room to take it with you take it back with you!! Last year after trails closed we went out and checked our section for garbage and some ass clown took the time to tie a shredded belt to a tree branch and leave it for all to see! The few bad eggs are going to ruin it for all of us. The other major complaint our club receives is people not staying on trails and running over small trees!

Was digging a hole in the back yard and found a Kawasaki Shark. I'm not much for lime green colored stuff so I tossed it  ;D

OK, I get losing the snowflap but how on earth do you lose a hood and windshield?

Littering is inexcusable, fricking glue victim morons. Parts are another matter. We have lost parts and searched for them and just could not find them. The only time would be when the snow is gone many months later. But a windshield???

A few years ago I found a complete sled!!

Someone left a 1971 TNT 640 out in the field beside the trail.  We had to start seeding so I brought it into the yard and left it beside the shed.  No one ever came and asked about it. It was less than a 1/4 mile from our yard.  It was there for probably 3 months in the field before I dragged it home.  Fired it up and drove it around the next winter!

One of the grandsons was riding one of the old 70 Sno Jets and got back to the yard and I looked at it and something was wrong. The headlight was missing. Cousin Wayne went seeding in spring and seen something shiny. WhooHoo! Thanks much!

vtg those parts are from the "stand up crowd", the ones that stand up while driving across the flat field.

Young , arrogant, big sled loans, lotsa monster energy stickers and skull/death sled wrap, booze and drugs and no regard for nature or any farmers field.

You can spot where they stop and rest, theres beer cans left behind, and a ripped up trail from all the mountain sleds 2 inch tracks.

When we were kids we used to walk the trails just after snow melt and would find alot of things, springs, flaps, windshields and best of all tool kits, and tools, evrn found a complete recoil minus rope once.

Every year after Live on Ski's Lapeer, we usually find a nice assortment of broken springs and bolts/nuts and some parts that I have no idea what or where they are from.

It's honestly a hoot seeing what shows up after the melt offs.

I left the nosecone from my 92 EXT special somewhere a couple yrs ago.  Backtracked myself and never did find it.  Not sure what cat was thinking on that design, a worse copy of a phazer!

I find a lot of torn out studs if I go walking the trails after snowmelt and the usual shredded belts, busted windshields and broken plastic.  most of the trails here are narrow and twisty so theres a lot of tree incidents.
