This should maybe be in vintage racing....... :o

Search Waconia 2012. Chaps were the feature sled.

Very controversial subject when it comes to the current Eagle River World Championships.

From what I gather, the Chaps were banned because they won....everything.  But they were winning with updated Fuji engines (not the original style Fuji they came with) and the chassis themselves were hardly vintage.

Now '73 Polaris "Starfires" are winning everything, with updated Fuji engines (not the originals) and the chassis themselves are hardly vintage.

I think this is why there is a little tension.

I don't have a horse in this race, I just like to point out the hypocrisy.....

I don't know nothin bout that stuff or should I say stuff that happened lately
Just wandering about the 70 s original stuff

As far as racing there will always. Be people that will be stretching the rules when you have rules that say internal mods allowed

in the stock form in the early vintage days they were welcomed,i know ,i raced 3 of them ,

but over building later   caused many to feel they were not as equal as they once were and had a advantage
, but you can say that about many sleds today.
people want you to be honest until you tell them how much they suck

For the record, the Chapp guys are and were using the correct Fuji motors.

I don't know, I had just heard rumors about the Chaps not running the correct engines.  I can't say one way or the other, as I've not seen it with my own eyes.
I just like the B.S. ing and I love when everyone gets all worked up over it.
