Hard to answer if you don't ask a detailed question. I have had at least 10 TK's, what do you need to know?

they are readily available.  JLO/Cuyunna.  You need to know which engine.  TK's would have been 340/440

There could be a few causes for smoking the engine. Could be the timing is too advanced, Could have gotten too hot. does this tk have the cold air kit installed. Or could be the crank seal on the clutch side. The cuyuna engine 9 out of 10 times blows the clutch side piston.

Uses the same ribbed seal as the AC engines on the PTO side. Many suppliers list the smooth OD seal for the JLO/Rockwell which is incorrect and comes in the Wonderosa gasket kit. 30mmx62mmx8mm ribbed seal if my memory is good. I just blew a hole in the PTO cylinder yesterday on one of those >:(. I do have a spare engine ready to assemble except for the PTO seal  ::)

A picture of the round thing would help but it could be the electric start ring gear. Visual inspection isn't very helpful. The seal allows air to be sucked in and leans out the mixture and burns the piston. Mine burned down due to the black single use case studs failing on the PTO cylinder and blowing the base gasket. The engine was running rich and even on both cylinders last week. The PTO cylinder nuts were down to finger tight by the clutch. ::)

the later engines used a longer PTO crank bearing and have a round extension cast into the block. The flat blocks use the same bearing as the old LR series and are a little on the weak side. Common failure mode is to wear out the PTO bearing which causes the seal to fail and then causes the PTO cylinder to burn down. Replace the PTO bearing when you redo that engine. kind of explains JLO/Rockwell/Cuyuna's reputation for burning PTO pistons if you look at them sideways.
