The LED tail light does not melt the snow off- you have to stop and wipe it off :-[

You have about 50~60 watts available in the vintage sleds, so likely won't work correctly with old lighting coils

Use halogen headlight bulbs outta mid 90's Taurus' in the Yami's.  Work well and never burn out.  Just wire in the plugin to the sled and bulb fits like a glove.

Dad bought it new.  Sold it.  Found it and bought it back for me when I was a youngster.  Then I sold it for mud tire money when I was 17. :-(

either put on another rectifier or hand warmers

Wouldn't hand warmers rob even more of the needed power to run a newer higher wattage bulb?

I've got halogens from Dennis Kirk for two 79 jags.  Work great and way better for riding at night.  Night and day difference as they say.

some systems need need the correct voltage to make the engine run proper. I know on some sleds if you don't have enough draw you will burn out heads lights, check in your manual and see how much it needs to be drawn off the system. Hand warmers take power but if you reduce the light bulbs with LEDs these take less power to run, you have to even it out order it to work proper

Any Yamaha Exciter guys try a new halogen headlight bulb in their sled yet? I don't see Dennis Kirk having a halogen for the Exciters. But I see these here on eBay for the Exciters:

Not sure if these are a simple, direct, plug-n-play light? Meaning, simply unplugging the traditional incandescent light and plugging these in and having them work and NOT having to mess with any additional wiring or additional lighting coils????

Anyone traveled down this road yet to experiment with halogens in the Exciters?
