Is it actually oil, or just the normal stuff from the exhaust? Maybe a leaky gasket on the exhaust flange? I can't see it being oil as the sled is pre-mix...

2-strokes always leak a little. It's unburned or partially burned fuel with oil mixed in.

A few things can make it worse than normal:
    1. Running with a plug fouled (on a twin).
    2. Running too rich of a mixture (either a rich carb. setting, or too much oil in the fuel; ie, running 20:1, when you should be running 40:1)
    3. Lots of starting, stopping, and low speed running, without "opening her up", to get the engine up to full operating temp.
    4. Raw fuel leaking into the exhaust, due to a leaky carb. issue.
    5. A sled that sorta runs, but has weak spark.

I'm sure there are more reasons, but those are some of the most common.

On newer sleds with oil injection, it can mean a faulty, leaking oil pump.
...Then, on the 7th day, god saw it was good, so he went snowmobiling.

Every one of mine leaks a little - especially this time of year when you're rich to start with and just screwing around in the garage.
I have used some black RTV to help seal it and keep the oil inside the pipe.  Must work some 'cause when I went to bake the freshly painted ceramic paint on the pipe (using the oven in our kitchen of course) the oil flowed out the end and caught fire.  My wife was thrilled.
Try the high temp stove or auto RTV on the seams

My 75' SST is doing the same thing really bad. It is indication of a problem because my older sleds don't come close to doing that kind of crap. I think the muffler could be partially clogged with mouse house garbage.
