1967 Skidoo Alpine Gas Tank

Hello. I have a 1967 Skidoo Alpine that came without a gas tank. I have not been able to find one and am wondering if anyone either has one or knows of some kind of workaround that will work.

    I wish I had the ability to do that but I don't. There's got to be a solution but I just haven't been able to find it.

    Hello PrairieSledder,

    Personally I'd have one made from either Stainless Steel or Aluminum.
    Any old OMC tank is going to be 50 years old & brittle.

    A picture of the sled and tank would be helpful.I have a lot of OMC tanks but can't think of one that would go in the front of a Ski Doo.

    I have an Evrinrude tank in the front of my '69 Alpine, or at least that what I was told it was. hotdoo

     My 66 Olympique has a belly tank but I have a 74 Evinrude, 73 Harley and a 74 Sno-Jet that all have plastic tanks that fill though the front. Those plastic tanks all seem solid and not brittle but each one is a little different in shape and location of the filler tube. Somewhere I saw a video of a guy who modified his Oly to fit two plastic one gallon gas cans, it aint pertty but I suppose it works....

    I ended up making a gas tank from a 20lb propane tank installed on its side. It just fits in there and was able to weld on a filler neck to come through the hood in the original position.
