I didnt think you could do it that way. Interesting. I suppose I could move the pins to the exhaust side if i chose

Is this the proper place to discuss fingering your Sachs?! ::)

I'm not a Sachs therapist, but I would be happy to watch your demonstration.  :)

Ignorant people find me irritating. Isn't that precious

It takes dedication, and commitment to make a difference..

Please don't expect me to take you seriously, if your tinfoil hat is leaning to the far left,,,,,

and mercury is not a good replacement for tinfoil,,,,

    Have a nice day!

For the most part, your piston doesn't care which way it is orientated. Unless you have a funky top on your piston to match the profile of the head. It's all the orientation of the ring pins. JLO's are in the front because of the extra wide intake port. Most others are in the back because it's just normal port layout. As long as you have sufficient area for the ring gaps to be supported, you should be ok. People have changed a lot of things to make mod ports work. Move pins, cut new ring lands for the rings and add new pins, run one ring, you name it.
Should just drive em' in the daylight anyway.

Imo not much material between Sachs transfers and intake port for a traditional style vertical port especially since you don't want to weaken the iron liner too much. It might be possible to go through the casting behind the liner and mill in two ports.  Maybe need some welding outside the cylinder to keep it from breaking through.

That's what I do for the Sachs is a high velocity diagonal behind the sleeve transfer port. Start by grinding a hole with a ball bit through the sleeve where the port will terminate ,now you have a mark in the aluminum where the port will go. Now push out the sleeve and create the trough down to the crankcase transfer area. Then push the sleeve back in. You should have good tooling to push the sleeve out as it is easy to break the bottom skirt off of the jug .There is enough aluminum to create this port without welding.I would send a pict but this site is to old to allow it.

Sounds like a great idea but this is a all steel jug. I will keep that info in mind tho

Sounds like you should get an aluminum jug.
