Polaris Clutch/Ring gear ??
« on: April 09, 2017, 04:38:56 pm »
I picked up a used electric start kit with a clutch from a 488 fan. Not sure what year. I want to put the E/S on my wife's 1987 Indy Sport 340.
Can I just remove the ring gear from the kit and attach to the clutch that's on the Indy Sport?
Also, what years battery box/holder will fit on the Sport?
   Thanks,

You are going to have to use the whole clutch.  Most all the clutches that came on the sleds Did NOT have the Hole bosses for the ring gear to attach.
The Early Sports Had the Standard diameter Clutches,  The Later Sports used smaller ones like an ATV.  Check to make sure What you have before you tear stuff apart.

Ignorant people find me irritating. Isn't that precious

It takes dedication, and commitment to make a difference..

Please don't expect me to take you seriously, if your tinfoil hat is leaning to the far left,,,,,

and mercury is not a good replacement for tinfoil,,,,

    Have a nice day!
