this one only has 2 sets of wheels..... and 33 cleats

From the pics I have seen of the sled, I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary about it.   Looks like a consumer colt. However I haven't seen any under hood pics. And without the original motor?    ??? Could have possibly been something to do with that?    :-\   I'll put some feelers out and see what I can come up with.    ;)

The muffler is an add on. The original Town and Country muffler was mounted right in front of the motor, and went out that hole in the pan. It had a by pass to go from muffler to strait pipe. The race sleds had a strait pipe that went right out the same exit hole. It looks like you at least still have the original carb. That's pretty cool! The 297 was kind of a generic replacement motor for the 372 I guess. I have seen several 66 to 68, 372 JLO machines, repowered with the 297. If you over revved the early 372, the cranks would twist. Dunn wun myself. :o

Soooooooooooo...... I saw one of these tanks on Ebay a while back and thought it was pretty cool thinking that Polaris has made their own Gas tanks (as in portable tank to fill stuff with gas).... so I bought it!!!

Then I saw his and thought someone has added it because it was missing the right tank or had a bad original tank.... I just Googled the colt and see that that actually is the tank it came with (weird) but now understand why he will still need it.........LMAO!

Sorry.... don't know much about those year/model sleds if you cant tell..... so  ah.... yeah..... never mind....  :-\ :P ??? ???

I used to have a few older Skidoos with internal tanks that were rusted out and when I bought them the previous owners has make shift tanks added to the front or runningboards..... thought this was the same deal.... My bad.

Continue on..... nothing to see here.....  (but ifyou want to sell the tank LMK!!!   ;D ;) 8)

My cousin took it down and did a so so resto better than 10 years ago. The tin is pretty pitted. He needs to redo it a little nicer.

It was in the Wednesday Rochester paper. You might be able to get one by contacting them. They may have one if they haven't recycled them all. It was the Thanksgiving edition with all the ads for Black Friday. It may be called the Post Bulletin.
