Polaris 500 Indy SP EFI Issue
« on: February 23, 2015, 08:51:22 pm »
A friend has a 1992 Indy 500 SP EFI that will not run unless the key is held to activate fuel pump. When key is released pump stops and engine will not run. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

May sound dumb, but replace the key switch first , and try it again .

Mine once you let go of the key it runs the pump until pressure is made.  Pull the rope and if it
doesn't start the pump runs again and then it starts usually on the 2nd pull.

    Maybe this relay is faulty.

The LED light on ECU flashes but not continuously. We are going to try replacing relay and use let checker to decode LED flashes. My understanding is intermittent flash is not an use but continues flashing means something is wrong.  Thanks again all!

The ECU is giving you the code, write down the code and I think I have the sheet for the codes, it should be something like.. "dash, dot, dot, or dash, dash, dot, I think they are all 3 dash and dot codes..
