I had a spring order '01 mxz adrenaline 700 in the Ferrari f40 red as well. It's definitely right up at the top of my list of favorite sleds I've ever owned.

How about the Polaris xc/xcr with the monoblock 600? They are suspended the way I want and there are a ton of them used. Wasn't it the '96 model that they started putting the additional pto oil line on? Was the reliability significantly increased when they did this?

Well, just picked up a nice '97 xc 440. Guy put a '98 red xcr hood on it and removed the "R" from the decals looks really slick. It's got a little less motor than I wanted, but chassis is just the way I want it. It's got a new 1.25" predator on it, c&a skis, all shocks recently rebuilt, and it's even got the rare for '97 remote front arm adjuster. Sled was meticulously maintained, rebuilt skid, all bearings new, fuel lines, clutches rebuilt, etc, etc, literally turn key. I know I was looking for a project, but this one is so nice not sure what I will even do to improve it in the short term anyways.....

For the Yammie guys (yes it's a pogo but they were as good as anything in the day).

Built by the owner of TY. 136 mono 4 stroke skid, widened using Vmax XT struts and stabilizer. Still running the 540. A later reed valve 600 would make it more reliable but I'll bet it's a fun sled on the trails.

I thought so too. That's why I saved the pics. Some real talent and vision out there.

An 89 Arctic Cat Cougar, updated with a pipe, bigger carbs, and updated clutching.  1 3/4 inch camoplast  ripsaw track, M-10 suspension, gas front shocks, and plastic Ski's, with 6 inch carbides!!  Can run it in icy conditions, has enough power to have fun.  Light and easy to handle on the twisty trails around here.  Won't win any speed races, but will hit about 80-85 top speed!  Had an 88, and it was a very fun trail sled!!!

What I would build for trail rider would be a 76 Twister. Fun little sled and you can get anything you want for them.  ;)

For a classic sled I'd build an '89, '90, or '91 Indy 500 or Indy Classic.  Always in the conversation of being one of the best sleds of all time, classic wedge chassis, and a virtually bullet proof liquid cooled twin.  These sleds are still everywhere, all over Craigslist, and parts are cheap and plentiful.  Available with optional electric start and reverse.  '91 had the 11 gallon gas tank, up from 7.3 gallons.  And if you build a '90 or '91, it has the "dial adjust" rear suspension with a mogul mashing 7 3/4" of rear travel! ;)   No, its not a race sled, and you might be looking at a lot of your buddies tail lights..........until they're looking at yours while you tow them back. ;D

I just got rid of a '92 Indy 500. Yes they are solid performers and to be honest if mine was just a little bit of a cleaner slate to start with I probably would have built it. I wish too they had just a touch more hp, of course the Fuji 440 I ended up buying in my '97 xc doesn't have a whole lot more!  ???

How about a 95-97  arctic cat Z  with a newer 570 fan  with twin carbs .  Not that the 440 was a bad motor just a little more low end grunt and top with the 570.     Polaris primary clutch  cat secondary.   Put fox shocks on it with the remote adjuster on he handle bars.   So you can adjust the ski pressure on the fly.    Maybe even do the 136 rear mountain cat track and and skid for a little extra traction and ride.       We are talking  classic so  I am going to stick with a non ETT tunnel or extra travel skid.  8 inches of travel.  Just standard  but in the ZR 1 chassis with plastic skis.     That would be a great race sled for cross country racing.   Low to the ground but yet enough travel for ditch banging.  A  Bullet proof fan cooled motor.   ;)  Best chassis of that era  the ZR.   ;D
