apollo x, yes I am sure MerCat made the work table. He is pretty handy and likes projects.

I am glad Rusted Nuts asked me to come and help on this project,it was fun working and Bs'ing with them.

It seems that when you go work with a couple different friends you learn new ways to do things! LOL!

I got a very interesting PM from Ddub yesterday, he generously offered to "Sweeten the pot" and donate one of his custom helmets to the winner of this sled!!!! HOW COOL IS THAT???
The winner will be able to pick the size and style, and Dennis will ship directly to them.
Dave and I were blown away, we hadn't thought of that, and couldn't say "Yes Please!" fast enough!
Thank you so much Dennis! We really appreciate your generosity!
Maybe you can add a few pics of the design's you offer to the thread?

I also want to thank Stan Kempen for his generous offer to let me "Come and get whatever I need for the sled!" That is Very nice of you, I think we have everything for it, but I'll be in touch.

    Del,
Sorry I didn't get these pics or "official announcement" up yesterday, but Sue (Red) had to put her dog down yesterday.  So, we had that to deal with and I didn't get to the computer until now.

Yes, I am going to offer one of my helmets to the winner.  We want the kids safe!

When the winner is chosen, I will contact them and determine the size of the helmet and design that the proud winner desires.

I will only post the Arctic Cat offerings here, but if the winner wants a different helmet design, they can choose from one of those also.

Here are the Arctic Cat designs and colors.

    And the metal flake design.

Please note, the metalflake design does not have kids sizes available.  So, if you need something smaller than a "small" adult, this helmet is not for you.  Please do not get too large of a helmet.  We want the kids safe first.

So, kids get those essays going!

Great gesture by all of you guys.  I'm thinking you may get a few essays from my household.  I told my kids (ages 15, 12, 10 and 7) about it.  We shall see how many put the pen to the paper (they will probably type it on the computer).

Thank you again Dennis! That's a great offer, and I think the winner will love it!

Please spread the word to any youngsters that might be interested, please keep in mind the sled is in Wisconsin, and the winner is responsible for picking it up. As I've said before, I'll do what I can to get it closer to the winner.

Thanks again for all the kind words, this is a really cool thing Dave started.

When I was in 4th grade I did one of these on here and I won a 1971 Artic Cat Lynx, it was pretty awesome that they transfered it all the way from New York to Wisconsin for me. I am a Sophmore in High School and I still have that sled, It was such an amazing thing that people will take time out of our life to do these things.  8)

I do not have the names of the previous winners they were on my website sledworx.net which doesn't exsist anymore. The first sled went to a young man in Wausau, The second was delivered by Terry Bashoor for free from Green Bay (I met his driver there) to New York state for another young man. The last one my wife and I delivered to A very nice young lady and her family we met them in Lacrosse Wi for delivery. It's been a couple years since I have done this never really had a decent donor sled. I am very proud that the guys were able to step forward and help out on this project without any of them it couldn't be done. I think rusted Nuts and I will have it wrapped up by Friday. Hopefully!

Hey Starfireboy....I think you were the winner of the first essay contest.  I was pretty new to the site and I thought the whole deal was so cool.  Hard to believe that was 6 years ago.

I'm hoping to go tomorrow and finish up, then if it's not raining we can get more pictures. We'll probably put the "official start" thread on also. I believe he has  Dec. 15th picked for the drawing.
