Looking good, I really like the odd ball sleds that you don't see every day.

I need some help with the rear suspension link on this sled.  As I have it installed
there is no movement up only down. This doesn't make any sense to me. Hotdoo
if you could take a picture of yours that would be  8)
The cross rod that holds the stand on interferes with the linkages swing.
I supose it would keep the rear axle from bottoming out on the tunnel  :-[

That looks similar to my Bobcat. There is a steel buching over the bolt that needs to be longer than the spring is wide. The bushing rotates on the bolt so the big washer on the end of spring doesn't bind.

Even a blind squirrel gets lucky once in awhile ;D

Now to find the right diameter rod for the kickstand. If I only knew someone who has a lathe
I could turn down the aluminum cross shaft I am using temporarily.

What diameter is it now and what does it need to be? Also how long.

There is a metal supply company down the highway from us I'll stop in and get an aluminum
rod and tap some threads in the ends.

Got some luck finding some of the missing parts for the Rustler this week.
A couple of weeks ago Hotdoo came thru with the belt guard. I had a 70 Cat hood
hanging in the garage for years and took the headlight ring off of it.  Two years ago when
I got the 66 Chateau it had an extra belt GTS702 in it and it fit with the adjustment pulled all the
way back, got the front bumper last week and the last thing was a gas cap from a 68 Ski Daddler
    that fit perfectly.
I have given up finding a tail light with the chrome ring around it but since I have seen 2
using a simple red side marker light I got one at Menards. So I have everything to finish
it off when I get the time to do the fiberglass work.
How did they manage to crack it up inside by the headlight?

Finding parts is love/hate aspect of vintage sleds. Sometimes the most fun is hunting for stuff, until you get to the point you think you'll never find what u need. Then you decide screw it, I'll make do with something else. That's when you give up and move on. Then VOILA!!
It seems to fall from the sky! That's the best! I'm glad you found all the stuff you need.

You're right. This is the first sled that I had that was missing so much and needed to find. I couldn't believe that I found that bumper. It is not exact but close enough.

Thanks Chris. I saw one at the St Germain show this year. It's funny to see the differences between that one and mine.
That is where I saw the different tailight than mine has and the front bumper is a bolt on not welded onto the frame.

I'm trying to remove the decals from the hood and it is not going to well.  They don't seem to be a normal decal.
There is what seems to be a clear vinyl coating over it and some is peeled off.

When I try to heat it with the heat gun it doesn't peel off. It does how ever dissolve with paint thinner.

Got them off  ;D  The parts with the outer vinyl was on did peel off with light heat.
The other black stuff seemed to be glue.  With light heat it rolled up like an eraser would.

That's the way. If something you'd expect doesn't work, just find another way. There's always more than one way to do a job.
