Aftermarket Taillights??
« on: January 12, 2017, 02:07:31 AM »
Okay Vintage Sled bro's, I have a question for anyone who has installed aftermarket taillights.

Last night a certain employee shattered my drivers side rear taillight on my 2015 Silverado 1500. Granted mistakes happen during poor weather conditions, like we have had all week. I just wish the person would have owned up to it instead of going to the security camera's. Oh well...

So after looking into options for my truck the OEM taillights are the same price as a sportier aftermarket one. I like the idea of LED's back there and a clear lens with black background would be sweet.

My question is, has anybody ever installed a set of aftermarket ones. I know 10 years ago the quality was pretty iffy on most headlight and taillight kits. The brand I'm looking into is called ANZO, they offer a 10 year limited manufactures warranty (we all know how those can work). Any help would be appreciated.

Most of the aftermarket lights are junk, fade, crack, get water in them, I would go with factory and have them tinted

Im not sure what brand mine are but they've been flawless since 04'. I paid nearly $300 for them but they aren't faded, fog, or require any special wiring. I'll check mine today for ID markings.

$100 Bux on Evil Bay for a used OEM Tailight.  $125 on Rockauto for an OEM replacement.  Bet the local junkyard has one.

Make sure they are heated, so they can be seen in the snow.
