Saturday Jan 21st, 2017  10am to 4pm.  Join us for the Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Club's 49th Anniversary & 5th Annual Vintage Snowmobile Ride/Show.   
 This event is a free family focused event and everyone is welcome to join in the fun at the Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Clubhouse located at the Corner of Fairview and Rose City Roads- north of West Branch.  This location is known as the "Frank Alley Trailhead"- and is the starting point of the clubs 108 miles of beautiful trails in the Ogemaw Hills.    For your GPS address is 2846 N. Fairview Rd, West Branch MI.
We will be having 2 guided rides, campfire all day, a non-judged Vintage Snowmobile Show, hot drinks in the heated clubhouse and our now famous "rake dogs" (hot dogs) and other treats.  Donations are welcome and appreciated.   We will also have historic videos playing and lots of family fun in Michigan's awesome Winter Wonderland.   
Last year we had over 200 old sleds and over 800 people shared in the festivities.

Your bridge story is better than mine.... I flat out didn't have time to get a slide railed, cleated tracked Cat ready in time with all the weekends being obligated for family events n such.    But I am already getting the parts pile started for a "mackinaw bridge Cat" ready for 2017.....

Hope you can make it to Ogemaw-- I'm sure we will have another great event and ton's of fun.

hearing about some snow up there the last 24 or so hours.......   glad to hear we all need it in this stretch of the state.

Gaylord has been getting slammed (with snow and sleds too)  so we just need it to drop down a smidgen

Gaylord! Got that right,newspaper today said our area has had 3' over the normal! I personally find that funny,yes Gaylord areas south/west of town got snow this week,but it was weird,I had 3" fresh in drive Monday night,heavy wet stuff,blew the drive,woke up with 6" fresh ,blew half of drive,Wednesday,we got maybe 4,so I did whole drive again,left today with maybe 1/1/2 overnight,weird part- it seemed to snow continuously between Tuesday-Thursday,but I've seen it snow harder,we got 18" overnight few years ago.But I did manage to fight cold/fever off long enough to go for ride,some places-Gas well roads,the REV was pushing snow,it was a riot!hotdoo

2 weeks away from today.   The club is working hard to make it another great event.

Roger-- great to hear.   The group rides will depart the club grounds at 1230pm.   There will be 2 guided rides-- both groups will be staged and head out at the same time.   

The "East route"  will be about 10 miles out/ 10 miles back-- this will be a slower paced, hillier and more curves - lots of neat scenery- including a chance that we will take the group out past an old abandoned cemetery from a little known ghost town in the middle of the forest. 

The  "West route" will be about 18 to 20 miles out and 18 to 20 miles back.   This route is a bit more spirited, with some longer strait sections.

Both groups will have road crossing guards,  group leaders & tails,  some extra staff on hand towing some newly built  dead sled tow rigs, and we will have enough help on hand to man the road crossings in both directions of the groups.

Trails are pretty decent right now, and supposed to get 3 to 5 tonite, and more tomorrow too.
