Got another package in the mail today from New Jersey. Thanks Joe!

Joe also sent me some cool stickers. I have a small display going on in my shop. Can you spot the  snowman sticker?

That package would put anyone in a good mood. Thanks again!

Thank you for the kind words.

Not much happening on the project because I have a  gimpy foot (hairline fracture) that is keeping me away from the shop. I should get around to it soon.

If you have a very good pair of pliers ... Klein in this case ... and a strong gripping hand ... you can cut off the ends of the rivets holding the controls on the steering post.

Got them off ... cleaned them ... a little clear coat on the insides where there was some rust ... and they are good to re-install ...

Beautiful sled. Looks like you are getting close to being finished.

Installed the bumpers. I will be using these until I can find something better.

Throttle and brake levers in place ...

I used a coping saw to make the cutouts in the lower part of the cab. I didn't want to use power cutting tools. The possibility of a mistake on a finished cab was too risky for me.

I used a drum sanding bit in a low speed drill. Slow and careful was the order of the day ...

Here you can see the lovely paint chips that have rubbed off. If there is one thing I learned with this project ... it's ... MOCK UP everything before painting!!! In every other restoration I have ever done, I have always started with a complete sled. In other words ... all the parts already FIT! This was a basket case and I assumed that stuff was going to fit so I didn't test anything before paint. Live and learn!

This beautiful NOS headlight assembly was sourced from Joe in New- Jersey. Is that the cherry on top or what!

I still have to do the wiring and control cables ... but in essence ... the sled is done! Here is what she looks like ...

Thanks to all who have followed my progress ... helped with parts or information ... It has been a blast!

    Beauty.

2 questions. I thought the sled would have a Yellow windshield? And is there a clutch cover or just the band around it?

     :)

There is a clutch cover ... just not in the pictures. The windshield could or should be yellow ... but I could not find a good quality yellow one to buy.

Wow! Can't believe how nice this sled turned out. I really like the tinted windshield and the black engine.

Thanks for the reply. Your sled is 100% sweet.  :)
