I picked this sled up from the Deere man himself "John Deere Joe" its an 81 with a 275cc Spirit engine from a Jag,  i had two 79 Spitfires that i took some parts from for this, i am thinking about keeping the hood green with 81 decales, got a new seat coming,NOS windshield, blasting the skis and springs this week, this i going to be a rider for my grandson not a show sled.  Sulley

Looking good, seems to be all there without any visible "fixes".

You're lucky that the engine is not original - some of the engine parts are impossible to find.

Heads up - if the track drivers go they are also hard to get. I believe the track drivers are small, 5 or 6 tooth.

On the plus side Polaris used the plans they got from Deere for the Sprint and Star, you may be able to adapt some parts.

I'd slap a 340 top-end on there for more power.  Nice sled! thankscheer

Looking good Sulley!

I've always like Spitfires. The engine sticking out and their smaller size are both cool.  Afro
