I agree, ran into the same situation when I increased the rear travel on my 94 Trail Deluxe. I ended up having to move the front pivot down 1 hole (3/4 inch) and added Fox shocks with softer springs for the skis. This helped to balance the load between the 3 points.

Also agree with the comment on the front spring on the Xtra-10 skid, it sure seems stiff, perhaps it's to balance out the travel difference between the front and back of the skid.

Belly pan mounted, steering in, almost a rolling chassis.

Lots of parts still to go, but the brakes are in and bled. I decided to go with the Arctic bars and an Arctic Wilwood master, braided line and a pair of the smaller Polaris pads. I had consided using a complete 2000XC handlebar setup but it just wasn't the look I wanted. I don't want that showroom stock look, and I don't want it to look too updated, and definetly not a trailer queen.

I suppose when I'm done it will look like I finally got a 10 year old somewhat neglected project sled running, a RAT-RESURRECTION of sorts.

Engine runs and the track turns, lots left to do and hopefully all the big headaches are behind me.  I used 4 inches of 3 feet of special order hose that cost me $66, but the exhaust is sealed.

A 2000 XCF SP donated a pair of 34mm Mikuni carbs (O-2, 330, 6DH7-2), a rebuilt secondary (red/34) and a Dr Mario primary (B, silver) make it go, with a bit of smoke - I'll jet it leaner later.

it is running a bit rich and the clutching is off a touch but i am pleased so far
