Charles started snowmobile racing in 1968 and passed on this tradition to his sons. “Charlie” loved fixing the sleds and sharing his wealth of mechanical knowledge to fellow racers. Charles died peacefully at home with his family at his side on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008. Ed DeVault, his son, died in a racing accident a few years back.
Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 7p.m. and again on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711 or to the charity of your choice.
